Project Overview
Client: University of Colorado Denver — Student Wellness Center
Tools: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Timeline: 4 Months
My Role: Lead Designer
The Welcome Bash is one of the Wellness Center's biggest events of the entire year. It's focus is to encourage community, embrace new and returning students, and provide a fun environment for students to start off the fall semester. Each year, a new theme is chosen; this year is pirate themed. This event serves more than 500 students in one day and requires months of advanced planning and organization.
Concept
I was given the opportunity to work with the Senior Marketing Coordinator and head of the event, Amber Turmell, to come up with a concept for this event. Once we had settled on the theme of "pirates", I was tasked to design a shirt. She provided some concept sketches and style preferences, and I was able to freely design from there.

Execution
After creating the t-shirt design, I created over 20 different deliverables. Those assets included wayfinding materials, flyers, event passports, and even a flag of our mascot, Milo, as the Jolly Rodger.

Results
This was our most successful Welcome Bash yet, seeing an increase in attendance, RSVPs, and overall satisfaction from the event.
