Milo's Market Mural

The Milo's Market Mural is an 11-foot wide artwork that represents all of the students at CU Denver who use the food pantry.

Project Overview

Client: University of Colorado Denver — Student Wellness Center: Milo's Market
Tools: Procreate, acrylic paint
Timeline:
8 Months
My Role: Ideation, Conception, and Co-Illustrator

Milo's Market is a food pantry available to students for no charge. It has seen an increase of over 4000% in usage in the past calendar year and has significantly reduced food insecurity among the campus population.

The Executive Director of the Lola and Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center commissioned Jade Borchers and myself to design and install a mural. The goal of this painting is to foster a sense of belonging in students and community members alike, as well as to celebrate the wonderful location that CU Denver is fortunate enough to reside in.

I worked hand in hand with Jade and the Graduate Assistant for Food Access, Elly Fry, over a course of 8 months to complete this task, with the painting itself taking over 2 weeks.

Milo's Market's success and the mural were celebrated the 2025 fall semester after it was completed by the chancellor's office. The success was also highlighted in a CU Denver news article, as well as in an Instagram post on the official CU Denver Alumni page.
